On May 23rd, 2022, Maria Bica, our student and volunteer, participated in the Student Symposium titled Gaudeamus. Contributions to current philological research, organised by the Faculty of Letters from Oradea. Maria is an MA student in two programs (Literature and Culture – Romanian Contexts, European Contexts/ American Studies, first year) and delivered the paper titled Three Steps above Literature: A Close Approach of the Distant Reading, discussing 10 translations from Edgar Allan Poe’s literature into Romanian. The study uses a comparative approach using digital tools for text analysis and distant reading (coordinator: Roxana Rogobete).
